Hey Guys and Gals,
My name is Rob and I found AK after my father passed away and left me a pair of Sansui SP-3500's and a sick QRX-777, both of which he bought in Germany in the 70's.
I am a computer programmer and live in Pennsylvania. Before spending much time on AK, my main hobby was building and tweaking computers.
I found AK soon after graduating college with a bachelors degree in computer science, so it was refreshing to step away from the computer scene as a hobby since it is something I spend all day doing for work.
Now I get excited about audio equipment instead. Mainly Sansui stuff, as that is what I started with.
What I enjoy most (besides the music) is restoring gear, especially recapping crossovers and gear.
After pouring over specs and conversations, I went a little berzerk at flea markets, garage sales, eBay, craigslist, etc, so I am at the point now that I don't have room in my townhouse for any more gear and its time to start enjoying what I have, and parting with things that don't really 'do it' for me. (Ill be honest, the live-in girlfriend drives the selling-gear force)
I have made my fair share of mistakes but the people here are so helpful and courteous that I plan to stick around a long time!! I get on AK every day now.
