I remember lurking at AU – Audio Utopia, for the 'interesting' reading. I got sidetracked for a while, and AK replaced AU, when I wasn’t looking. Sometime after that, I stumbled onto AK, probably from 4x4wheeling’s eBay “about ME” page.

Lurking, to posting, to Gameshow Host, to Mod, to Supermod, to Administrator, it has been an interesting ride.

Throughout these ~4 years, and the 35 before that, there has been the music. I have been fortunate to make many good friends, who have contributed greatly to my musical education. Thanks, one and all.

My system has morphed completely, three times, into its present configuration:

Ariston RD11S/Magnepan Unitrac/Benz Ace/Cambridge Audio azur 540p phono pre-amp
Lector CD0.6T cdp
Yamaha T-1 tuner
Almarro A205 EL84 SEP integrated
Almarro M1A speakers
Nordost Blue Heaven Rev2 cabling
Blue Circle power conditioning
Wardsweb-built source selector switch
Atacama stands/equipment rack

Outside of AK, my job keeps me solvent enough to do the things I want: organizer for Youth tenpin bowling, golf, clubbuilding, reading, and helping out around here.

And, schmoozing with my buddies on Audiokarma.

I don't know quite what to make of this new love-fest forum...:scratch2: But truth be told, I quite agree that Ernie is a true class act. I only wish that I had even half as much class as he does. :thmbsp:

They just don't come much better-or more modest-than this guy...Ernie babysat me at last years' Fest, way, way above & beyond the call of duty.

Ernie picked me up at the Fest, just as well or I would never have found the place. I agree with everything said about him as long as he gives my hello to Linda.:D

Hi Ernie!! I still think that it's WRONG to drive South into Canada...but since you probably can't (or won't) change that....bring that Almarro gear to AKFest with you next time. Good tunes!

Say Hi to Linda for me too.

Thanks for the kind words, gents. All y'all are gonna make me blush.

Oh, and the young lady was tickled that she was remembered by you, Rob and you, too, Scott. She says, "Hi!" to both of you.

Joyce, if Yoshi-san is not coming, I'll consider bringing my setup. I just have to get Dave to cut me loose from Fest organizing. Got any pull there? :lmao: Oh, wait, you'll have to convince Linda too. Good luck with that! Either that, or move the Fest a few miles south. Then I wouldn't have all those border issues. Then again, the rest of you will need passports...

Rob, Sandy, you guys speak of that duty like it was a chore. I want it known that I staked a claim on that privilege, before anyone else stole it out from under me. It was my pleasure and an honour, to be of some small service to you, at the Fests.

Like I said in my intro thread, Ernie was a big help to me when I first got here and didn't know anything about using a forum. He had the patience of Jobe getting me straightened out on postings pics (I wonder if he regrets that move?).:D Thanks for making me feel welcome then, and now, Jay

I've met him, twice, and enjoyed both meetings. Great guy. And he even forgave me when I was too loud during the Paul Miles concert at the last AK Fest. Hey, I was well on my way to good drunk that night. :D

Cheers buddy. Glad to know ya.

Yep, he's a Wilde man that's for sure!

I'll promise Linda (heck, I'll even bring it!) some See's candy if she'll let you out to play at the fest. Now as far as convincing Dave...uh.....uh....swallow... hmm...got any ideas?

LV, without exception, has helped me on this board more than any other member.

To know Ernie is to understand how he progressed thru these responsibilities. I am no longer amazed at his ability to see through the haze and get to the bottom line. As you can see, one of AK's most respected members.

Look forward to meeting you some day and tipping a couple.

Terry, it would be my distinct pleasure, only if you let me buy.

Urizen, I'm glad that the amp is working as well for you as it does for me. Thanks for the kind words.

hakaplan, PM sent.

Joyce, I'm sure that will do the trick, for Linda. Now, the big man... I got nothin', there.

David, I always thought it was "The Importance of Being Earnest". So, I'll be Ernest, and Earnest. I'll be Frank, if you'd rather.

Hey Ernie, what can I say about you that already hasn't been said? Okay, except the fact that when I first get to Detroit every year for the AK Fest, your friendly face is usually the first I seek out to make sure all is right in the world that day! Seriously, Ernie is one of the most enthusiastic AK members you're ever going to want to meet and I can't think of anyone who would be better suited as an AK Emissary.
