Hi all! I had to screw up some courage to go ahead and tell you all about me. After reading some of the threads I realize there's a lot of educated folks out there and at first I felt out of place but then I thought what the hey, we're all here for the same reason, right? The love of music and gear and all things related. Sooo, I'm Mark.

First things first. No I'm not a band roadie. I use roadie because of my love of cycling but I'm strictly a "roadie". None of that mountain bike stuff for me. Nothing wrong with that at all, I just enjoy the pavement.

49 years old, divorced once and never remarried, the first one stung really bad. No kids except my Pioneers, Marantz's and Sansui's etc.

Regretabbly spent a lot of my "good" years going down the wrong paths but at 33 pulled it all together and it's been great ever since.

H.S. educated and the holder of many, many jobs. Sometimes I regret the paths I chose but for the most part I have say I've enjoyed experiencing life from many different aspects.

Currently (and hopefully) for the rest of my earning years I'm a factory worker for Kenworth trucks in Chillicothe, OH.

Got into this hobby about 5 years ago by getting a Sansui 9090 like I had earlier in life and from there it's just been a whirl wind of buying, trying and listening to all sorts of stuff and a lot of that came from reading threads here at AK. It's lead to tubes, preamps, tuners, receivers, amps, speakers and assorted cables and IC's. It's been a blast! I love this hobby. And I know that it's not just about the gear but music also and even there I've stretched my horizons. Hey, with new and different gear one has to try new music to, eh? My favorite artists are Steely Dan and my taste runs mostly in that genre but I can also be a bit eclectic.

Anyway, thanks all for allowing me to be here. The best site on the net IMHO...........Best Regards, Mark

Coming from you that's a hell of a compliment. I thank you, sir. I knew you were O.K. when I found out you know who Donnie Fritts is. Nothing wrong with being a Twangophile either!.............R1

Hi, Mark. I drove through Chillicothe a couple of times this weekend and had forgotten about the smell: kind of pleasant at first, like baking bread or something. On the rare occasions the wind's coming from just the right northwest angle, I can smell it from home.

Anyway, buckeye solidarity! Cool gear...

Well, I've a whole fleet of bikes, mostly utilitarian, but my Birdy is the only one getting any seat-time nowadays.

Nice Jamis Roadie1. The only bike getting any riding time in my stable of bikes is my Litespeed.
