I feel a little awkward talking just about me, but as so many of my friends here are posting I thought I would give it a try.
I was born and raised in the Bay Area of Northern Calif and will hit the big 60 in November. I was an early member of this site when a bunch of us jumped ship at the old AU site, although I don't think any of us dreamed that AK would become so popular.
I retired this June after 27+ years of working at a nearby large oil refinery in the process control/instrumentation field. Retirement is going great but I had been sought out to do some technical writing (maintenance procedures) from home starting this July and I just sent out my first invoice for 96 hours of work. First time in my life I got to bill someone else :D Good pay for working in ones underwear :thmbsp:
I'm the proud dad of two wonderful daughters. Wendy the oldest (30) works for in a County recorders office and recently gave us a granddaughter, Casey that will be one year old on the 11th. Robin (27) has moved back to the bay area and is a high school teacher for special education students. She also runs marathons. She was a four year varsity BB player with Washington Univ in St. Louis where her team won three national titles in her four years (div III)
So Life has been good to me, I've been blessed and always seem to have had good luck with life's challenges. I was a more frequent poster here in earlier years and really enjoyed posting to new comers. However as the site continued to grow to have so many members there seems to be no shortage of members helping new comers so mostly I just read the mail around here and sometimes try and post something funny. My audio hobby has to share time with other hobbies, most recently getting into building and programming micro-controllers.
