Well I have been here only short compared to some, and like others I tend to lurk more then post. I came here asking for some help with my HPM-100's. I got the help and more, so I stuck around. I have a modest system beside most but the bite only starts shallow as I have seen. Since joining here I have picked up another pair of speakers, fixed an integrated amp(deoxit is king) and a set of PC speakers.
System specs (of interest as building computer systems not stereo systems is my primary money pit)
Technics SU-V6X Integrated amp
Technics ST-G3 Tuner
Yamaha Natural Sound 5 Disk DVD/CD Carasel
Pioneer PL-12 Turntable
Pioneer HPM-100 (50/100w) Gawd like sound out of these
AKAI SW-137 (recently acquired) Not sure what to do with these, but I got em.

not required, but helps local people swap gear and help each other, as well as get to know people. Definately not required, but helps newbies get welcomed if they don't have a specific question. And down the road, you can easily look up the people who reply and be confident they know what they are talking about. Met a lot of good folks here and being good is what it is all about, so welcome and enjoy, my friend!

Welcome to AK, Ender! No, not a requirement for newbies, but I think DD covered the positive aspects of letting everyone get to know you a bit!

Most definetly, I read the original in highschool, then eventually collected the rest of it, perhaps one of the best series of books I have read. Maybe not the best author in the world but, IMHO one of the best. Ranking up there with Heinlein, Niven, and the likes he has created some of the most thought out and believable characters I have ever read.

He certainly has. I used to love all his early stuff, until the religious overtones got too heavy for me. I liked the stories, just not the forced-religion. He's certainly welcome to his own style of writing, but I moved on to Mike Resnick and Jack L. Chalker as my main favorites. Glad to have ya aboard here, Ender.

Hi Ender,
Glad to meet a fellow science fiction (fantasy?) fan.
Next to audio, Scifi is my hobby. I have an attic full of literally thousands of scifi and fantassy novels. Started out in highschool with Tom Swift.
