I picked up a Sansui 7070 Receiver last week. Please give me some information about it as it will make me decide whether to keep it or not. Everything works.

Everything works.

What else is there to know. :thmbsp: I had one for a garage rcvr and I really liked it. Plenty of power out, 65/ I think. A great looking faceplate. I have a G6000 now and I think 7070 was better looking. What did you pay for it? Like you said, everything works so why would you consider getting rid of it? :scratch2:

I paid $16.00 for it. I have 4 receivers in addition to the separates and that is why I am thinking of getting rid of some of them.

And the problem is? You probably have more than 4 rooms in your house - set 'em up and enjoy them for awhile if they're all as nice as the 7070. :music::thmbsp:

I don't think you can do better in a mid-range solid state receiver than a good condition 7070. Nice score! :thmbsp::music:

I used to own the 8080 and loved it. For $16 you could probably flip it for $100 but I would keep it.

Of all the Sansui's I have owned and heard the 7070 is the single best receiver of the bunch because it's the perfect balance of features and power and -- the best amplifier circuits that Sansui made. I love my 990DB but I would be absolutely satisified with a 7070 if I have to choose one.

Keep it. You wont get much for it anyways. Give it to a friend or family member if you just dont want it.

For $16.00, it's a great find. I own the 6060 and like it very much. The Sansui x0x0 were very well made and I would not get rid of it. Doesn't take up much room and one day you will look back and regret dumping it.

You are right about the sound. The sound stage is simply amazing and I have decided to keep it. My first experience with a Sansui was Sansui Synthesizer Compu-Receiver Z-5000X and it was a disappointment. After that I wrote off Sansui but now I am hooked.

I will keep it but it will need some cleaning. Any advice on how to go about it ?
