My spell check was out........I am sure you feel better by that post...........I think if one is going to honor the dead, especially a great artist like Luciano Pavarroti, one could at least spell their name correctly -- Google is always available if in doubt.

I don't even like opera and I liked that guy. That voice was music. Didn't matter if I could understand him or not. A gift from God was his voice. Like no other voice on earth.

A great loss indeed. He will be sorely missed around the world. I am pretty sure the album Carreras - Domingo - Pavarotti: the Three Tenors in Concert still holds the Guiness world record for the best selling album. I'll never be able to listen to him singing the same way again knowing the passed away. :tears:

My grandmother-who apparently had heard Enrico Caruso-said Pavarotti was at least as good as Caruso, maybe better. We are all a little less rich w/his passing...At least we have good recordings now...

I'm pretty sure we all knew who he was talking about! Let's keep this a peaceful remembrance!

My Father-in-law, during the end of a long illness and no longer able to leave his bed, was only able to find solace in watching or listening to his many Pavarroti performances. I would sit with him while my wife and her mom took a much needed break and this alone was enough for me to become a fan. Since my Father-in-law was a talented tenor himself he was able to instill in me a real appreciation for that wonderful voice. He preceded his hero by 8 months hmmmm, sorry for the rant...heady times... RIP indeed!

Laemmle, one of the reasons I'm so active on this forum is because of men like you. Thoughtful, kind and a Mac and music lover.

It's important as mature people to try and not miss the point of such a concerned genuine expression like you have offered to us here in this post. As grown men we should be able to expect that from each other. Even if noticed, a misspelled word should be overlooked for the insignificant concern that it is. We all frequent this forum for a little support and a good time.

Sometimes a kind apology is all it takes to keep a good friend. I hope you get the one that is due you.
