I'd power them with a MC2255. I don't want to use a sub.

There are a lot of threads on this already ... check out the "Search this Forum" button on the right side of the page when you're on the main forum page. It's surprising how some topics get rehashed ... might as well save some folks some typing!

Second the recommendation to use the search engine to read many past posts. You will not need a sub..the LS360 will go as low as the PS112 sub. Your available power, however, will be a limitation..LS360 designed to handle 600 watts.

Thanks for the advice, but I had searched already. I ran a new post on the odd chance that some different folks would do some typing, with some new and different input to add to the knowledge base.
If 250 wpc is underpowering the LS360, I could run 2 - MC2255's mono (500wpc) with them.
The bottom line is that $4,000 covers a lot of speakers in the used market.
In the speaker market, I am the least familiar with Mac speakers, a not too uncommon phenomenon.
So, using 500wpc of McIntosh amplification, is there a better synergy or PRAT when coupled with McIntosh speakers? The LS360 in particular?
Subjective question. Subjective answers welcome. Thank you everyone for your patience.

You can't compare the LS360 with other $4,000 speakers in the used market. Nothing else will compare.

One of the better sounding speakers I have heard. That is, of course, a subjective thing.

Price is high, power requirements are high, but nice sound.

The LS360 will handle a lot power and will play loudly. You do not however have to have a lot of power to drive the speaker. I have owned mine about 4 years now. I prefered them to any other speaers that I auditioned at the time around their price point. The tweeter array provides very wide coverage and the bass is very quick and powerful. The amps you want to use will be fine. The midrange of the speaker is good but not the best I have heard. I would consider that the main weakness. It still has a great midrange, just saying it was not the best. Still with the pitch accurate bass like I hear in live music, excellent highs, and a very good midrange it was a great buy.
