Looking to upgrade to a solid state Mac Preamp. Any suggestions? I was looking at a C-28.

I am into vintage Mac equipment. For preamps I would start at C29 and move up to newer units as the budget allows.
I had rather unhappy experience with C28, I would not consider a C28 even knowing that DeWick is always available to fix it properly.
