Good God...why can't those be closer. Sigh....

Westend, thanks, but for the moment, I couldn't be happier.

Believe it or not, I just got my set. I didn't get them for $500, but they're in near-perfect condition, and they sound sweet, although I'm still just a wee-bit half-amped(?) at the moment. When I rectify that problem, I can bi-amp them and really enjoy them. Wifey came through for my birthday(16th).

Did I happen to mention that this made me very happy?

YYAAAAAAAAAHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! !!!

AVguyTX,

Don't worry, your day will come. And if you're ever going to be down this way on a Sunday, let me know in advance. I'll grill some italian sausages or something and we can listen to SRSs.

Warning: Must be able to tolerate presence of large, potentially sausage-stealing great danes. Other than that, you should be fine!

AVguytx,

As a side note, I wish they were closer. At that price, I'd race you for them. I need some good rear speakers...:music:

I posted this in the Polk forum as well and one of the guys in there is picking them up on his way back from also picking up a Polk SRT system! Now THAT's a set of speakers I wouldn't mind tinkering with for awhile, too. Only 250 sets made total.

Thanks for the invite, Mark. Might take you up on that one day! I do enjoy my SDA 1C's which I'm listening to now since I am in the process of redoing the crossovers on my SRS2's with Solen PB caps and Mills resistors. I ordered all new RD0-194 soft dome tweeters for them, too, so hopefully within the month I'll have them back in business (tweeters are on backorder). Sure, they could use more power than my 200wpc Carver amp but they sure sound good to me...especially for what I have in them!

Avguytx,

Sounds like you have an SDA farm going. I may ask you for some advice if I decide to rebuild the crossovers on either the SRS's or the 2B's.

And it's true... You don't have to drive these at max rated watts to enjoy them. They're simply lovely with the single A5002 driving them. Thing is, though, it's always nice to be able to put the pedal to the metal once in a while, if you know what I mean.

The SRT is a nice looking setup, but I've never actually heard it.

Even my wife, who is less than impressed with gadgets, had to admit that the SRSs are pretty slam-dunk awesome.

Thanks!

Mark
