I just wanted to post an FYI I learned from another forum after quite a bit of internet seaching.

The background of the story is that I saw this Thorens TD-316 listed with a reasonable BIN price locally. The problem was it was untested because it had no power cord (it actually needs a wall wart to provide 16V AC). I recognized that the cartridge on it was a Shure V15V-MR that I could sell for close to the asking price of the turntable, so I decided to take the gamble. I read that the Pro-Ject power supplies provided the right voltage and had the correct size adaptor, so I ordered one for a Pro-Ject Phono Box online. It came yesterday, and now the Thorens is back from the dead. I just thought that some others on the forum may be interested to know this, especially since all but one of the wall warts I have around the house provide DC current. I think this would work with most of the AC motor Thorens models.

There also insn't alot of information on this turntable on AK: It appears that only one or 2 other members have mentioned anything about it. It is a suspended Thorens, but unlike my TD-126, it uses leaf-springs instead of coils. It seems to be a solidly built deck and is a little better suited to the entertainment center drawer (prone to resonance from the flimsy bottom)than my Dual due to the isolation of the spring system and higher mass.

Here is a picture if anyone is interested. Please ignore my dust.
