That's amazing - that many per MONTH :yikes:

I wonder where they all are now..... :scratch2:

I only know where one Amplifier and one Tuner is - for sure :D

It's a big world guys. It's likely most of them were sold elsewhere.

Those are interesting numbers Sten but it would be nice to have a little better breakdown. Sansui sometimes referred to receivers as tuner-amplifiers so are they counting them too?

Surprised me pretty good, at first, but if you think about it, there's only a small percentage of the world's population listening to Sansui gear. I kinda think they counted receivers as amps too, but still, that's a lot of gear, just waiting to be "re-discovered". :smoke:

Hi Pete
No I don't think they do. I did another cut out of the document and if you check Products they separate reveivers from Integrated amplifiers and Power Amplifiers.
Besides, how could they produce so many different products/models. Seem like they have 10 days in a week

70% export. That means 30% of production or 12,000 amps a month were sold in Japan! That 70% is probably all products so the mix for the home market might be weighed more heavilly to other products.

Interesting none the less. Things were still ramping up in '71. I wonder what year had peak production?

Anyone know where that clipping with the numbers came from? The name of the document? Heck, it doens't even say Sansui on it. Those could be Lloyds numbers... :)

What do you insinuate. Do you think I'm bluffing.

I found a page in a booklet for QS 4-channel where Sansui gave a profile of the company. It's difficult to show the whole page with acceptable resolution as the file will be too large (max 120kb). That's the reason for cut out.

See the head of the page (new cut out :D)

Well I know you were not bluffing :thmbsp: -- but now the big question is; if we call 323-1111 do you think Sasnui Co. will answer the phone? :lmao:
