I actually didn't ask for much. I got a couple Cd's (Della Reece(thx TA), Dean Martin and Lyle Lovette) A vacu-sealer (food-saver) and a Chefs shirt. You should have see my expression when I opened it. It a thick double button whitest of white shirts. I was a little confused. The wife just started laughing  She said a chefs shirt was required if you take any cooking classes at thefrench culinary experience (http://www.frenchculinaryexperience.com/AboutUsMain.asp?FCEsection=aboutus), which she also signed me up for :D

I always did want to learn how to really do the basics well...especially making some of the oh so tasty French sauces and stocks (which will be my first course)

enjoy the holidays!

One of the best 49er pregame's this year was after serving
double duty overseas, they had the National Guard medical
evac. unit from Le Moore and representation of all service branches.
The 49er's flew in the N.G,'s families to be there for the celebration on the field. Just thought I'd share that, it was
fun and a nice thing for them to do.

I like it a lot and the SACD layer is excellent! I haven't given it a critical listen yet though.
A real surprise to me was the Kinks "Low Budget" MFSL gold SACD. That is a true audiophile disc, incredible sound! Haven't
played the cd layer yet.

Happy Holidays Everyone:

Thus far: a great Christmas!

Daughter has been home from college for a week.

Son continues to practice his salute to Iron Maiden.

Various other family members and friends have crossed our threshold and have added to our holiday enjoyment.

Weather has been spectacular for this time of year, so there has been some great dog walks.

Christmas goodies, as if the above wasn't enough.

A vintage DC3 ashtray. Complete with all the parts and pieces.

A Tivoli Audio Model One Radio. A great little performer.

Gift cards for books and music. I'll use those.

The DC3 ashtray does indeed have a working cabin light and both props are intact. My wife bought it in the summer and had it stored away until Christmas. It stands at least a metre tall and has a metal / marble base. The upper section has two ashtrays and two smaller containers
( for either matches or cigarettes? ). The upper section also has the four suits ( clubs, hearts, etc ) stamped into it. I quit smoking 20 years ago, but it still looks great.
