Over 100 P-51 Mustangs will be reunited with 51 aces, former crew chiefs, WASPs, and other World War II veterans at a four-day event that's under way today in Columbus, Ohio. The Gathering of Mustangs & Legends continues through this Sunday, September 30, at Rickenbacker International Airport. It includes a daily airshow, featuring World War II aircraft, top civilian performers, military demonstration teams, and the Air Force Thunderbirds, as well as static displays of vintage and modern military aircraft.

My brother-in-law was in attendance...you can see the first of his photo essays on the gathering at www.maxair2air.com. He specializes in air-to-air photography, and has a couple particularly sweet shots on his site. Lucky dog...he's been able to fly in just about every warbird in the air today.
