wow...major requirement of autorotation was eliminated because of the limitations of blade design....

the second requirement was about supressing fire capabilities..should have fwd gun used by copilot...that requirement went away from weight concerns...

wow....politics really fucked up this plane/chopper.

as I heard on NPR...Marines dont wanna get on the V-22/

They should have just stuck with a conventional helicopter design. They poured money into the Osprey and still wound up with a compromise.

yeah....I heard on NPR that as soon as the main Marine commander was sent to a new post in Europe, it was all over..He was on the ball..!

It was originally a 2 seater, and they said that prototype kicked ass!

They were working on that POS when I got out 20 years ago. If it aint fixed by now it never will be. That's why you still see Marines disembarking from H-46's that were built in the early 60's
