I often hear ( and contribute ) to the theory there is a lack of good music around.

There is good reason for the above, Rap Music  ; something l call "Boy Bands"; growing up during a time the 60's when so much great music was happening and so on. It goes on and on.

I'm begining to question the above perhaps there is a lot of good stuff out there you just have to look harder.

Recently l've been getting back into buying new music mainly Blues or a variation of this type. I'm impressed.

Examples Van Morrison "Whats Wrong With This Picture";Delbert McClinton "Live"; and my newest disc Walter Trout " Live Trout"

Every one of these three CD's are IMO excellent. Now Walter Trout does not know the meaning of the word restraint. I also would not recommend anyone into tubes play his music because l don't think they would be man enough to handle his intensity. ;) :D :D Definitely SS stuff.

Van Morrison (l'm a fan) is a master vocalist great flow to the CD.
Delbert's band cooks very tight found myself bouncing around the computer room to this one and thats a lot of bounce. As mentioned earilier Walter Trout very intense blues guitar master.

Anyways my resolution for 2004 more listening to music both old classics and some new friends (Blues).:)

If you want to hear some good ole' down home electric Blues...try some ..Larry McCray....

He's a local guitarist /singer/songwriter.. here in central mich...who made it to the big time...just not enough airplay cuz the record companies want you to hear what they have a lot of money invested in...

I dont know if you can find any on KaZaA..but if you want to hear some ..just pm me ...for a taste....I always buy his discs..to support his music.....

BM,

If you're looking at some classic blues try:

B.B.King-"Live in Japan" (Still smokes "Live in CookCounty Jail")

Buddy Guy-"Live! The Real Deal" and "I Was Walking Through the Woods"

Otis Rush-"Cold Day in Hell"

Son Seals-"Midnight Son"

Muddy Waters-"Hard Again"(Never seems to get old)

Just a thought.

A few suggestions in addition to the fine ones already offered:

Sonny Landreth, Joe Bonamassa, Kinsey Report, Johnny Adams (New Orleans Blues crooning at its finest), Kenny Neal, Rory Gallagher, The Gale Brothers, Tinsley Ellis, Pine Top Perkins, Lil Ed and The Blues Imperials, Studebaker John and the Hawks. To name a short list...........

A couple of others blues singers that I'm enjoying are: Sue Foley, Keb Mo' and Garry Moore.

:grnbounce:Hey bigmacc,

Gotta agree on the lack of good muisic today. Personally, I think "rap music" is an oxymoron.:bash:

I've been a Delbert McClinto fan for years. Saw him live four times. Can't go wrong with Delbert.:bigok:

Coupla more to add to the list:
Robben Ford
Robert Cray
Charlie Musselwhite
Stevie Ray Vaiughan
Johnny Winters
James Cotton

Well, there are so many, especially theold timers Like Howlin Wolf and Jon Lee Hooker.

A person can get lost in the blues. For a while, I didn't listen to anything else.

Also, if you have Winamp, their internet radio has some dandy blues streams, such as the Atlanta Blues Society.

Lightnin' Hopkins or perhaps Mississippi John Hurt

You cannot go wrong with either

If you like Walter Trout, you will probably also like one of his successors in the Bluesbreakers, Coco Montoya. Try Gotta Mind to Travel, that's a good one.
