This is black plastic with a large G and grado on the front. All black with a brushed gold looking body. No other identifying marks. The G and the grado are not highlighted with silver they are the same as the rest of the cartridge. Any ideas? THanks Norm

Is it a grado 'gold'? they do a range from Black, Red, Blue, Green Silver and Gold. which is Identified by its gold colored metal jacket, al the others in the range had a silver body from memory

Guys, I screwed up, the body is golden color the the big G and grado are in gold. My fault. Does this mean that is a grado gold, are there several different models that have the gold color? Sorry for the earlier f*** up. Norm

If it is, there will be 2 small gold dots one on each side at the front of the cartridge as you view it head-on.

It does look like a grado gold norm, the 'engine' on these carts are all the same, you are getting a better quality stylus tip, as you go through the range from black to gold as I recall try this ;-http://www.gradolabs.com/frameset_main.htm You can also see colored dots on the stylus carriage if they are gold you have a good one!

You guys are right, as I look the the cartridge head on there are two small gold dots set slightly further back at the base of the cartridge. This came with a JVC QL-Y55F turntable. If I need new stylus do you know the "best" quality one I can put in that cartridge body? Would it be the gold? Thanks again for the help guys. Norm

Yes, buy the gold replacement stylus. It's the 4 piece cantilever and was the top stylus in that series. :thmbsp:
