This is a follow up to my earlier post about this grado cartridge. I don't know how old it is and a replacement stylus is 90$. I don't know how this cartridge should sound although so far it is pretty good, just a little bassy , but for 90$ you can get an at440mla. Is the grado gold a better cartridge? Thanks for any advice. It does make a difference what TT you have as Grados do hum with some. You probably want to check the grado hum post and see what you can find on your TT. If it's not a combo that hums, I would probably go with the grado gold but the AT440mla is a very decent cartridge too.

You get alot for your money with a 440mla.Including a hyper eliptical stylus.Get it unless you like the mellow Grado sound. The 440 sounds less warm with a hot treble. Its up to your personal preference.I personaly love the Grado sound but ive read so much about the at 440 mla id get it.

I've had Grado and AT. Generally speaking, Grado have killer mids. ATs are a tad "hot." It comes down to personal preference and system.
My experience with Grado Blue would have me upgrade to Gold in a heartbeat.

Grado Blue and Grado Gold Styli are the same. Buy a blue for way less money and you won't know the difference. Neither will your vinyl.
