Trower 10-30-2007, 06:52 PM Wow nice find man! I'm most defiantly jealous.
Jeeze, that is lucky.
pmsummer 10-30-2007, 07:00 PM They wanted $12.98 (ouch), but I had a 40% off coupon.
I say ouch, because last year, all their LPs were no more than $5.98, with most being $3.98. They got wise.

1: My original copy in mono purchased in 1967(?),
2: My original stereo copy (purchased in 1967),
3: My first replacement copy (1970),
4: My RCA Budget Buy back-up copy (1982),
5: My clean, used, mid-70s copy (purchased about 1998),
6: Today's find (1967 Stereo).
Plus three CD versions.
1: RCA's first crappy version (1990),
2: RCA's better remaster (1998),
3: RCA's even better remaster, with added material (2005).
I like Baxter's.

I'm in Exeter, UK right now and yesterday afternoon had some time to kill so I looked for a used vinyl record store. Found one all right, nice little store, ALL records stored in heavy gauge clear vinyl sleeves and ALL records classified by genres and alphabetical order... Prices? the cheapest one was 6.95 GBP and the most expensive I saw as mint copy of one of the Beatles album... 40.00 GBP

We've got a great vinyl store here like that: every LP is cleaned to perfection, new heavy/clear external sleeve, new poly-lined inner sleeve, and average prices of $20-35, and MUCH higher for the rare stuff.
The used book and record store I go to (a BIG local chain... Half Price Books and Records) doesn't clean anything, and turns the inner sleeve around so it's facing out (allow the LPs to slide out "easily", and the dust to enter more easily). They have always been a great resource, but they are now starting to cash in. If they professionally cleaned their LPs, I wouldn't mind their rising prices so much.
AlanT 10-31-2007, 03:51 PM Now if you can find a mono copy with the alternate mixes.
