:end of sarcasm

Now I really dont' want to call anyone a liar without even knowing them, I suppose almost any story could be true. Once in a blue moon. But TWO? Listed within a couple hours of each other, and Akai #2 has some rather big smudge and nick marks on it's faceplate.

I think the chances of both of these stories being the stone cold fact is about equal to my chances of being in a three-way with JLo and Jennifer Aniston...:p: :p: :p:

The 625 looks very good, but I would be careful buying that model.
It is similar to GX-255 and 8 out of 10 decks they need service on power-supply or got left channel not working correctly + some of the parts you can't find anymore...
A classic door-stop.. instead for sweet sounding deck.

But the other Akai GX-270 D, that is a nice machine.
3 motors direct-drive, GX-heads, soft touchbuttons for the transport, auto-reverse. Nice ;)
If I wanted to buy a good deck the 270 D is a much better option even if 625 got 10-1/2 inch reels..

Never used, njaaa,

Yup Tex, they both *look* nice, no doubt. And I would have to bow to your experience on which deck would be the better buy. If I was bidding, I'd go for the 270D as well. I'm kind of starting to like that style of Akai.

In fact, I'd allllllllllllllmost be willing to believe the story on the 625D. Highly unlikely that it truly has "never been used", but maybe..just maybe. That once in a Blue Moon factor.

But the second one? Ummmm...no.

Looks more like the seller got the idea that if you have an original box with packing, you can get yourself some plastic sheet wrap and claim it has "Never been used once".

Of course, maybe he really means that it "has never been used once... it's always been used two or three times at a session" :p:

I guess the 625 going to sell for $ 350-400 or even more.
The 270 I think around $ 250 could be wrong :dunno:
With all those extras they will bid like crazy.

Look at the bidding now!! over $710 for the 625 and $405 for 270!!!

Give the people what they want..I guess

:dunno:

You gotta wonder..I suppose the 625 **MAY** be the real thing..brand new old.

But not both of them...probably not even the 625 just one smoooooth sales job.

I aint' sellin or buyin either way:cool:

Well it's over..at least for the GX-625.

$810.00

More than the new price, according to Oomens akai pages.

Maybe Akai should start making them again :)

You may be right there Tex, perhaps the seller will realize what he did and back out..

Hey if the owner has to re-list, is it now going to be "used goods" since it's been sold once...and no longer "new"?

:deal"
