Okkervil River - anyone else here a fan? I love the theatrics and the way Will Sheff tells a story in each of his songs. A mix between Arcade fire/The Decemberists/Bright Eyes but not dirivitive in any way.


Plus the lead singer (Will) did the album artwork which is way cool:

From a few listens, the new one is arright; the earlier ones were killer.

I am a big fan as well. Like you, I like the storytelling of the songs.

I am a big fan,Don't Fall In Love With Everyone.. is my favorite.

I think it was Tozer who brought them to my attention.

The only release I have is their 2005 cd Black Sheep Boy, and it easily made it in my top 10 releases of that year.

Down The River Of Golden Dreams is my favorite. Sheff's performances are like barely controlled explosions.
