Some time ago when the college bookstore was clearing out their CD stock, they had a .99 bin where I picked up a copy of Detroit by Mitch Ryder and Detroit (formerly Mitch Rider and The Detroit Wheels) from 1971. This is one fantastic disc and recently found out how rare it is on CD (I have seen copies of it sell for $40.00) on eBay. Apparently this is a case where the disc MCA reissued than deleted shortly after. This has also happened with Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson which has made the CD worth more than the vinyl version.

I always said. If I could sing like 1 person, it would be Mitch.

That is one hot disc.
I'm still PO'd that I sold my vinyl of it years ago.
70's DDetroit rock really is some pretty darn good stuff.

I have a vinyl version of his 1978 release "How I Spent My Vacation". It's a great record and deals with his being gay which was quite a shock to many, including me.

I've talked to Mitch a couple times when we're having concerts at the theater, we've even had him do a show, Dave.
LAPEER — He used to be hip. Now he’s got titanium hips.
He was one of rock’s hottest stars in the ’60s. Now he’s in his 60s.
Heck, Mitch Ryder doesn’t even live in Detroit anymore, calling South Lyon home for the last several years.

I saw Mitch open for the Plasmatics of all people, in '79-80!!:thmbsp:
Quite an eclectic bill, I'd say.
