I have always loved audio stuff, and I'm redoing my sound system. I am going to search out ways to keep my Akai cass from slipping belts, and my Carver TFM45 is being re-capped. Other than that, I have numerous speakers, and my favorites are my Klipsch Fortes, and Bose 901s. My home theater systems are HK, and so far have been trouble free. I have installed many in ceiling speakers in my basement, (most Bose freespace 32 converted from comercial to straight 4 ohm)and powered by a Sonamp off of the HK pre outs. I have a couple of Polk ceiling speakers, and just ordered some Modernos by Sonance. I have a real mix of sound stuff, but the finished basement is coming together well. I will get pics at a later date.

Some of my mixed matched stuff.

Anyway, it's nice to be here.

Oh the latest question I have.....
How can I hook up my direct drive Techniques turntable to my Harmon Kardon AVR 335? It also has no provisions for Tape 2 monitor, which I need for my Bose 901s that must use an EQ, but I solved that problem with by using a separate sonamp from the preouts. The turntable thing I'm not sure about, so I may end up not using that turntable. Technology is leaving some of my old stuff in the dust hee hee, but I still love it!

Welcome!

What's the issue with hooking up your turntable? If there's no PHONO input on the amp, you must use a phono preamp and then connect into any tape in or aux in that's available.

Nice artwork, those wooden cars are very cool!

As I said, I'm waiting for my Carver to be reworked. I just bought an older HK CD player for my old HK AVR 20II. I use this setup with Klipsch Fortes upstairs.
Down in the basement I'm working on, I use a New HK, with a Sonamp (Powers the Bose 901s), switching module, Sony CD changer, and numerous ceiling speakers. The Carver will be running the 901s with an EQ, and the Sonamp will be running the ceiling speakers with an EQ. The HK runs the home theater preouts for the amps, and some speaker outputs for the surround and Sub. It is somewhat mixed matched, but works out quite well for me.
