One of the fruits of globalization is the record label Putumayo. I've become quite the customer it spite of their offputting liberal associations (dedicated racks at Whole Foods for example). They have excellent taste as producers and the sound quality is generally fine for Redbook.

So far I've been very pleased with my purchases.

Here are my favs:

- French Cafe

- Women of Latin America

- Samba, Tango, Bossa Nova (or some such combination)

- A Taste of Putumayo - a two disk box set with Music from the Chocolate Lands and Music from the Coffee Lands ($20 at Fry's!)


Anyone else with recommendations?

I have two titles, both which are excellent... One World and Women of The World: Celtic.

Women of Latin America is also my favorite.

I use to love listening to the Putumayo World Music Hour" every Sunday on a local radio station. Now it is not available. Radio station sold to another company and changed the programming. :thumbsdn:
