Hi folks,
I would like to perform a quick cleanup of the pinch rollers in my Yamaha KX-690.
I understand that I can use a rubber restorer and Windex to recondition the rollers. By rubber restorer - are we talking about a product like Armor All or STP Son of a Gun? I know that a slick surface is the opposite of what I need but will the Windex remove the slickness and leave the rubber in better condition than before treatment?
Thanks!

What you are looking for is called rubber rejouvenator. Windex does NOT restore. It simply cleans, and it works well when used in combintation with rejuovenators. Never, ever use armorall on any piece of audio equipment (or on records), because you will permanently damage it by doing so!

I don't suppose that there is a household product that's comparable, is there?

Sorry, no. But you may well discover new uses for this product like I have (on malfunctioning printers, etc). I have just shown you the cheap (and sweet smelling) stuff. The industrial grade stuff is much more expensive (and also very toxic).

Another printer tech checking in. I do prefer to replace parts, but initial cleaning of the rubber may buy you a lot of time.
I prefer Martin Yale Rubber Cleaner and Rejuvinator.
