Whenever I use my Technics SL-D202 with Shure V15-3 cart, the sound is GREAT for about 1.5 sides, and then it gets really harsh and loose. I let it sit for a day or 2, then play again. Same problem. Anyone ever seen this before?

EDIT:
Another thought....

The power is plugged into a Pioneer SX-780, but the outputs are run into my TASCAM M-30 mixer's phono 1 input. Would this make a difference?

Hmm, sounds odd to me, and hopefully Howard can chime in here with some ideas?

While we wait for Howard's (or other's) take on this, about the only logical questions-suggestions I can think of are, What Stylus are you using, and how old is it?

Only by process of elimination will you be able to track this down, as trying another Stylus, Cartridge, hooking direct to the Reciever, and if no results come of this, then the reciever's phono stage, or whatever inputs you're going into on the reciever itself?

Unlikely the turntable, but I guess when trouble-shooting something like this, one cannot discount any one piece of equipment. Mark

Stylus-RadioShack generic replacement. That's gonna change.
The TASCAM mixer is fed to a power amp. I plugged the turntable into a power strip and NO MORE PROBLEMS! The Pioneer has had some problems in the past. I do think that the Pioneer shall be in the dumpster soon.....I just don't think it's worth it to repair.

Oh, before you consider throwing the Pioneer in the garbage, there may be some here who have a need of certain parts from that Unit?

I never have placed an Ad in this forum, but if it is free, or perhaps Audio-Asylum, list the Unit as a parts unit first. Some folks may want the entire Unit, or a substantial amount of parts from it?
Just a thought? Mark

nope....Pioneer was just sitting there because I didn't want to find another place for it, when I got the Tascam and Peavey CS-400. The Pioneer is just about dead. I just didn't want to get into the power mess beck there until I had to....

The members classifieds has a free section for parts. Check it out. :)

I will talk it over with the guy that actually OWNS the receiver (not me) and then I will see about posting it for free parts. That's a really good idea.
