My daughter got married last summer. We had a song picked out. About a week before the wedding, my niece calls and tells me about a song called "I Loved Her First" by a group called Heartland. Mainstream country balldad. Well, I'm not a fan of big hat country groups, but when I auditioned the song for other family members, the response was wildly enthusiastic. Used it and it brought down the house. Good luck whatever you choose!

Bonnie Raitt did a killer version of "Baby Mine" on a Disney tribute album called "Stay Awake". Yes, it's a song about a baby elephant, but just check out the lyrics, see if they apply for the two of you. Beautiful tune, great performance.
