About 13 years ago a buddy gave (burned) me a CD that a customer of his had given him at his fly shop (tackle store). He was so impressed with the disc that he burned me a copy. The story goes as I recall, that it was two kids in their teens that put together this CD in their basement using synth and other various instruments. The music reminds me of a mix between The The/Front Line Assembly/Sister's of Mercy...a strange mix for sure.

Well, I found this CD the other day buried in a pile and broke it out for a listen. Once again I was impressed by this talent for it's complex sounds, structure, vocals and detail including the high quality recording. I placed a call to my buddy that originally gave me the disc and asked again about it's history. I don't know if I lost the original translation at the start, but he recalls it being just ONE DUDE....an adult that created this recording alone in his basement out of boredom.

I can't find any information about this "band" named Steady State on google or elsewhere. I can't believe that this kind of talent was missed or lost out.....I mean, it's really good stuff.

Anyone heard of this? Maybe it's not the band name but an album title???? The CD just has Steady State written on it in marker. FWIW, one of the songs has a sample "this is your dick......this is your dick on drugs"....I think it's called Controversy?
