Picked up a minty Kenwood KP-3021 at the thrift today. Like new condition with wooden base and dust cover.
I can't find any reference to this model anywhere, can anyone shed some light? I think this model may not have been sold in the US.

I was able to get it on the workbench tonight. Whoever packed this turntable away did an awesome job. Everything went right back together, even the belt is OK. The headshell and cart are also fine.
I hooked it up to my Sansui AU-555, put on a record and wow, it works perfectly. The automatic feature works great and the platter turns smooth without wobble. Clearly it was well cared for my the previous owner.
This is going to become my production turntable for a while. Still I wish I cound find something on it. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow.

most kenny TT's start with KD, but there is one listed in the bluebook that starts with KP, a KP-5022, 1974-78, msrp$300.

This one has a US adapter on the plug, so I don't think it was a U.S. model. Probabally came back from Japan or Korea with a Serviceman. Here is a thumbnail from a brochure.

Here's a better pic of the same brochure...

I'm absolutely amazed at the condition of this turntable. I've never seen one a thrift in mint condition. Whoever owned it saved all the original packing and put it away in the original box. The stocker at the thrift said "I just took that out of the box". I asked him if the box was still around and he said he would go get it, but it had just started to rain and the box was ruined... Boo.

I'll bet whoever left it had a tear in his eye after he left it...
Glad to hear that it's in good hands! :thmbsp:

I was generously gifted a Kenwood KR-5510 and the KP-3021 on Friday, December 7th. Both units were bought around 1971-1972 by a co-worker when he was stationed in Japan. He's searching for the manuals. I'll holler back if he's successful.
Do you have the original cartridge?

Still no luck on the manual but the original owner said it may be at his mother's. He'll check when he sees her on Christmas.

I know this is an old thread; but, if anyone is still interested, I have a Kenwood KP-3021, that I purchased new in 1973 and I have the original owners manual.

I actually just found a KP-3021 that I'm interested in picking up. Looks to be in good condition but is missing its belt. Is the table worth a shot and how difficult would it be to track a belt down for it? Any info from the owners manual would be great.
