I've missed way too many SMAC meetings due to family commitments in the second half of this year. Today's irony is that it's MY birthday, so I have to do the family thing. I'll be missing everyone at the meet. Have a beer for me! Next year tho, maybe I'll make every meet!

This was the setup - before the fire trucks arrived and hit everything with the foam...

Kegger brought Hewey Lewis and the News LP's.

Jeff demands to know who put "The Captain and Tennille" on his turntable. He was really mad, too. Well, I had to do it. It was that or Helen Reddy. Grumpy had been yelling for "Nantucket Sleighride" for hours, and I was getting sick of it.

Needless to say, the party broke up.

And you'd better BE at the next SMAC gathering, or we'll talk about YOU!

Looks like a great turnout. Wish I could have made it, but Ed told me that if he couldn't go, I couldn't go.

Tom, this is SMAC, not Springer...

Wigwam Jones
12-10-2007, 12:44 PM
No, it was pretty much Springer. Tops popping, chairs flying. It was anarchy and I loved it. Someone put on a "Head East" LP and then a punch out started over "Katrina and the Waves" and somebody ran out of the house with a Kajagoogoo LP tucked under his arm. You hadda be there.

Jeff did a great job of making me feel like one of the group. I hope to attend these on a regular basis so I can connect the faces to the AK names. No fair everyone introducing themselves by their given name!
And thanks to Strawman for the food plater. And beer. And the ride to and from. And showing me his mancave. WOW

Seen many new faces at the meet. Unfortunately not enough time at these to always get to know everyone. See ya all at the next one.

Ya may want to rethink shooting pics of me. Cameras usually stop working shortly there after :)

Thanks again to Jeff and his great sounding Hifi, now if only someone would have brought just a few more Stones records... we could have played them all night!

Craig's amp sounded very sweet and similar to Jeff's and had some interesting attributes as well.

A swell time was had by all and Chinese carryout ended the night fittingly.

Happy Listening! :beatnik:

Here's a few more pics.

Craig's new amp. I believe it's a set of his VRDs on a single chassis.

Jeff's system; one of my faves. He's done a great job creating a fine sounding system in a very accommodating space. I always enjoy the meets at his place.
