I'm a Tool fan myself, and I love my vinyl.. but DAMN!!!
Are these albums really that rare, or are these just a couple of fans that don't know better? Or should I start looking for cheap deals on some?

Same thing I was thinking, but there was also someone that had been around a while that was popping some pretty big cash too... and new or not to e-bay, you would think someone spending that kinda cash on vinyl would know the value?.. or probably like I'm wondering.. crazy fan?

My guess is those pressings might be rarer than you think. There was a time in the late 80's-early 90's, ( I was working p/t in a record/cd store, for the perks ;)) that finding vinyl pressings of a lot of releases was very difficult if not outright impossible. As record companies phased out making every title available on vinyl. Sort of like, the forced changeover from mono records to stereo, in the mid 1960's.
I'm not familiar with Tool's vinyl releases. But maybe those Tool releases are especially rare on vinyl. Just MHO.

1990's pressings of Tool albums commonly fetch over $100 at auction. Why exactly, I am not sure, but if I had the money there are very few (if any) bands I would rather spend that kind of money on!
The 2007-ish pressings are commonly $15 - $30

I dig em but I'll only buy the newer pressings. Those three can be had for about 20 bucks each. Worth every penny

I guess I can't imagine having such an interest in a band or an album to pay that kind of money, unless I knew I can turn around and get more.. .
I'm a really big tool and Maynard fan, but I would have a really hard time paying that even for a ticket for the front row..
