View Full Version : How come Its telling me my Pics to big? grumpy 06-22-2002, 07:48 PM I tried a while ago to load up some pics that were only 340KB. thats not that big. Hell I dont even think my camera goes down under 100KB like it keeps telling me. Dave Wardsweb 06-22-2002, 08:07 PM email me your pics as attachments and I will edit them them for you and send them back. mailto: webmaster@wardsweb.org grumpy 06-22-2002, 08:12 PM Ward I appreciate the offer but I plan to upload quite a few pics. I need to figure it out for myself I guess. Dave Wardsweb 06-22-2002, 08:14 PM Ask Kamakiri if he would increase the upload size which he has set. grumpy 06-22-2002, 08:18 PM Am I the only one whos camera does not shoot that low or are you guys just resizing them. I hate shooting on the lowest setting of my Mavica it looks so grainy and crappy. I hate to ask Kam to change it just for me besides I guess we would really eat up his bandwidth then. Dave Wardsweb 06-22-2002, 08:47 PM Shoot your pics in 1024x768 then resize them to 640x480 or smaller. This will help to keep them from looking grainy and lower their size at the same time. Try it in fine then the standard quality and see what you get. I shoot with a Mavica MVC-FD81 but want a DSC-F505V really bad. Don 06-22-2002, 10:53 PM grump I shoot mine in 2048 x something ...and then crop out the excess and resize to 700 wide x whatever it happens to be. 800 x 600 wont fit on the pages either. 700 will grumpy 06-23-2002, 12:06 AM Its funny cause im shooting my pics in 640x480 already and it still tells me to large. That the smallest I can go. Lets see if this works I resized one down down. saxmeister 12-23-2006, 04:06 AM Hey Grumpy, what OS are you using? Mac OS9/X? Windows 98/XP? (Sorry.... I clicked the wrong button and didn't realize this was from 2002.... It's too late and I'm getting over the flu.... Sorry guys!) Kamakiri 12-23-2006, 08:14 AM Interestingly enough, this is the 139th thread created here :) dgwojo 12-23-2006, 08:25 AM Am I the only one whos camera does not shoot that low or are you guys just resizing them. Dave I shoot mine at highest quality and then use Corel Photohouse to shrink them to 800x600, maybe it's just time you sign-up for Photobucket, it sure makes posting pics a breeze!! They provide the proper tags, all you have to do is click on the "IMG Code" link below your uploaded pics and it automatically copies a pasteable link to you picture, best part is, no space on an AK server is tied up!! My thanks to Gary (Gamalot) for turning me on to this site; PhotoBucket (http://photobucket.com/) Here's a sample 800x 600; http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k98/dgwojo/Bakers_20060820_01.jpg alexkerhead 12-23-2006, 08:50 AM Whoooahh, necromancing to the max, this thread is 3 and a half years old. :D I believe grumpy has alleviated the situation since. mrgates3 12-23-2006, 09:12 AM I use Photo Gadget , its free and you can set the size you want , right click on your photo and pick Photo gadget resize from the menu list . Very easy to use  ozmoid 12-23-2006, 11:38 PM necromancing to the max :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: SoCal Sam 12-24-2006, 09:34 AM Here are some Mickey Mouse workarounds. I don't have photo editing software, just XP Paint and Excel. Take your photo in the highest setting your camera allows. Import the photo into Excel. Excel has hooks you can use to resize the photo. Then do a screen capture by pressing CTRL-Print Screen. Open Paint and paste CTRL-V. Crop to just the image of your gear and be sure to save as a jpg. There are easier ways to do this and I am sure lots of shareware exists for photo editing. theblackknight 12-24-2006, 09:37 AM Use photobucket. I had the same problem as you before. It works great, and the pics are MUCH better and clearer that way. opt80 12-24-2006, 11:14 AM Grump, you are reading it wrong,it says your pecs are too big Merry Christmas Alan bowtie427ss 12-24-2006, 11:15 AM Just wondering if the last few posters have looked at the date of grumpy's original post? Hopefully he got it ironed out by 2004 or 2005. |
