Hi, wondering if iTune-generated Apple Lossless Compression files(.m4a) and FLAC files by Exact Audio Copy program can be shared somehow?
Apparently iTune can open FLAC file. When I try to open .m4a file in foobar 2000 program, it ends up with Playback error:

"Unable to open item for playback (Unsupported format or corrupted file):..."

Any idea?
Thanks
Bob

You can share the apple files via Itunes. You can share them both with a simple file share that will work with Winamp or any player that can use a mapped drive. You can share the .flac files with Slimserver - the question is, what do you want to share with?

it sounds like you need both an m4a and flac decoder/encoder plugin for your foobar i don't use foobar myself so I can't point you in the right direction on where to get the plugins

Here's the website for Foobar:

In order to play Apple Lossless files, you need the plugin. I can play both .flac and .alac files with foobar. The plugin can be found here:

Not sure if that answers your original question...are you trying to use Foobar as a file server to stream music? If you can do that with Foobar, let me know how! :music:
