View Full Version : Flute and Guitar duos? No guitar, but if you dig flute, try the classical master, Jean Pierre Rampal, on the album "Suite For Flute and Jazz Piano" You won't be disappointed... RSL'67 12-22-2007, 01:51 PM Yep - Tull I've got - love it. I had a classical flute and guitar duo play at my wedding - they were fantastic. Will definitely check out Jean Pierre Rampal. Thanks. prisoners 12-22-2007, 02:04 PM Well well well, I'm a Tull fan too! Flute and guitar at your wedding? Very cool! My wife would've killed me on the spot, but I did manage to sneak in Priest's "Caviar and Meths" during dinner! Sorry, don't mean to hijack a thread or two.. RSL'67 12-22-2007, 02:10 PM Ha ha! No need to apologize - very cool with the Priest - my reception was more about 70's rock than anything - suited most of the crowd. ;) Our ceremony was great, as the music was very impressive - I auditioned several musicians and they were easily the best. My wife was happy. :) RichPA 12-22-2007, 02:21 PM A favorite that comes to mind with this combination is a disc of flute/guitar arrangements by Paula Robison (flute) and Eliot Fisk (guitar) featuring "Mountain Songs" by Robert Beaser, and a collection of shorter works by other American composers. Still available from www.musicalheritage.com, but apparently exclusive to them. Been years since I heard this album. RSL'67 12-22-2007, 04:53 PM Just the kind of things I was looking for - thanks guys! ozmoid 12-22-2007, 10:00 PM It's not listed on their site, but contact these guys (http://jamletmusic.com) and ask for Sweetwater. Flute, guitar, hammered dulcimer, very well done. They play at the Biltmore Estate every Christmas, and the lady playing flute is formerly with the NC Symphony. Scorpion8 12-22-2007, 10:04 PM Try the classic Twin Sons of Different Mothers by Tim Weisberg and Dan Fogelberg. Always a good listen .... dr*audio 12-22-2007, 11:53 PM Sketches of Satie CD - John & Steve Hackett |
