View Full Version : Beatles - Who's made your fave post Beatles music Axcel 12-24-2007, 11:29 AM I love the beatles but who made you fave post Beatles music? Mine is George:thmbsp: How do you add a pole to threads? Johncan 12-24-2007, 11:32 AM George by far pmsummer 12-24-2007, 12:08 PM John, with the Plastic Ono Band's "Live Peace in Toronto". It was a nice declaration of "Paul's MUSIC is DEAD!" My second favorite is Paul's "McCartney", which was a nice statement of "I don't need anybody else!" Duffinator 12-24-2007, 12:12 PM George by far:thmbsp: While George is my favorite it's not by much over John. Over the years I've come to really appreciate John more and more. Not much of a Paul fan but he has some great stuff as well. And Ringo is my favorite Beatle. He's still cool as ever. dmax99 12-24-2007, 12:20 PM It's a difficult pick for me, They have all made some excellent music. Fast_Eddie 12-24-2007, 12:34 PM I agree- they all made great records. But Paul is my favorite. Really, just because he made records that sounded like Beatle's to me. Ram and Band on the Run being my favorites. But London Town, Tug of War, Red Rose Speedway- lots of good music there. stereodctr 12-24-2007, 01:20 PM Not an easy choice but if I had to choose one it would be George. chuckworkb 12-24-2007, 01:23 PM For me it was George. John was a close second. Mystic 12-24-2007, 01:41 PM George Harrison sleddogman 12-24-2007, 01:46 PM George for his musical stylings. John for his lyrics. Mystic 12-24-2007, 02:46 PM Yoko. Not. :smoke: Strangeband 12-24-2007, 03:59 PM George by far I agree. Strangeband 12-24-2007, 04:00 PM Yoko. Not. :smoke: Aw, come on! eljr 12-24-2007, 04:10 PM John!!!!!!!!!!!!! George did well as well, but Paul I never liked solo. ozmoid 12-24-2007, 04:28 PM I like them all, together or apart. :music: How do you add a pole to threads? Have to be a Subscriber for that. jfine 12-24-2007, 04:59 PM Yoko. Not. :smoke: Funny though how someone could brainwash/hypnotize/whatever-it-was, a guy like Lennon, be an instant millionaire, watch all the beatles jam, boss around apple employees, etc., OK NOT FUNNY :pistols::pistols::pistols: </ derail> Axcel 12-24-2007, 05:04 PM John!!!!!!!!!!!!! George did well as well, but Paul I never liked solo. Hey not even Ebony and Ivory or SAy Say Say (i think thats it) the one with Michael Jackson both reflect Pauls brilliance:D ok joking cicero2 12-24-2007, 05:43 PM john for me. been said before, but yeah, i wish he hadn't recorded so much w/ yoko (whenever i hear 'slippin' and slidin'' i laugh, imagining it is about failed coitus w/ her) got george's all things must pass from the library and was bored by it. used to have the paul record from my step mom, the one w/ the cranberries or cherries on the cover. dont' recall much about it. still have Ram on my list of things to find. merry christmas! cicero2 12-24-2007, 05:45 PM Hey not even Ebony and Ivory or SAy Say Say (i think thats it) the one with Michael Jackson both reflect Pauls brilliance:D ok joking that was the second lp and first cassette i ever owned got both for christmas in 84 or whatever. first time i heard mccartney. Zadok2112 12-24-2007, 06:29 PM John jonman 12-24-2007, 07:32 PM Pete Best sqdlvr 12-24-2007, 07:47 PM I liked them all...but in solo in would have to be Paul, John, George and then Ringo.... hey listening to Yoko records can do serious damage to your stylus and speakers. LOL...kidding...I've yet to meet someone who actually liked Yoko's music and I'm sure there are. danhagan 12-24-2007, 08:14 PM George. When I was younger I was gaga over All Things Must Pass, Concert for Bangladesh and Material World. Then I got disenchanted with what I considered the holy roller preachy stuff. Now that I am older, I am slowly discovering that George was a still waters run deep kind of genius. INCREDIBLY good guitar player, not just technically, but also very inventive. All those guitar hooks from the Beatles that we take for granted and that are burned into mass consciousness, those were his. John a very close second. Snade 12-24-2007, 08:22 PM John - best song "Imagine". George - best album "All Things Must Pass" Paul - most prolific song writer and performer Ringo - most attractive wife - Barbara Cheers, Snade Johncan 12-24-2007, 08:34 PM Ringo - most attractive wife - Barbara I just fell off my chair laughing. I watched Caveman last night. Zug Zug. cicero2 12-24-2007, 08:46 PM I liked them all...but in solo in would have to be Paul, John, George and then Ringo.... hey listening to Yoko records can do serious damage to your stylus and speakers. LOL...kidding...I've yet to meet someone who actually liked Yoko's music and I'm sure there are. yes, there are. or were. 10-11 years ago when wire magazine was hyping her, some people i know said 'her music is much better than the beatles' they look embarrassed when i bring this up now. arrow 68 12-24-2007, 10:54 PM The Rolling Stones! 2DualsNotEnough 12-24-2007, 11:01 PM Id say Paul-Band On The Run,Tug Of War. But I think its a 4 way tie for first when it comes to time in court. These guys have had some doozies. Jimmy eljr 12-25-2007, 09:18 AM Hey not even Ebony and Ivory or SAy Say Say (i think thats it) the one with Michael Jackson both reflect Pauls brilliance:D ok joking To much "pop" from Paul. Axcel 12-25-2007, 10:41 AM The Rolling Stones! Thats an easy one - who made the best Stones solo music - none of the above:boring: sqdlvr 12-25-2007, 04:05 PM yes, there are. or were. 10-11 years ago when wire magazine was hyping her, some people i know said 'her music is much better than the beatles' they look embarrassed when i bring this up now. That's just plain scary. I have to jump the Yoko tracks on Double Fantasy, but oh well to each his own... scubaguy10 12-25-2007, 04:22 PM Well, Double Fantasy is a great record, despite Yoko, although the second track is pretty interesting when she has an orgasm at the end of the song (go ahead and check it out- she really does). As for the original question of this thread, I have to go with George, especially today. For Chistmas, my fair daughter bought me a mint copy of The concert for Bangledesh, to replace the one I bought in 1970 that I wore out years ago. Merry Christmas! shacky 12-26-2007, 04:06 PM Paul - Ram was one of my favorites in high school. Monkberry Moon Delight! Loved some of Georges stuff. Wish he took more time with all the great material on All Things Must Pass. But then John's Double Fantasy is the greatest! :tresbon: |
