Thats' an artist that couldn't be replaced. Many a top jazz pianist WISHED they could play like that man. Duke Ellington referred to Oz for his incredible talent as "that wonderful monster". One of my favs - I've got many of his recordings. His spirit will live on...

I feel very fortunate to have seen him before he passed, he was very special indeed. One of the greatest to play...we will have his recordings forever...and for that we can be grateful.

Rest in peace, you will be missed. Needless to say, I'll be listening to Night Train on tomorrow's (or today's, damn it's late) drive to Fort Worth. How many jazz greats of his generation do we have left?
