My Fiance caught me out of the blue with a Christmas gift that I had no clue was coming. We talked about getting a new camera in the past, but were pretty content with the one we had. It dawned on me when I opened the camera case first thing last night.

I used it today and from the basic uses I put it through it seemed as if it was pretty easy to use as well as shooting a nice photo...7.1 megapixels. As I get more experienced in the features I'll write up some reviews...maybe help some folks looking for a camera.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

I took the dog for a walk this morning and took some shots. I particularly liked how this came out. Not too bad for it being still dark out.

I've found that the cam takes nice pics in lowlight situations. I turned off all the lights except for the tree lights, set the cam on a tri-pod and zoomed in from about 5 feet on a couple ornaments on the tree. No flash was used.

I've had a Fuji Finepix for a few years now and have enjoyed it. It is, however, impossible to shoot any kind of action photo with. I was at the zoo trying to take pictures of the birds and by the time I was ready to take the picture, the birds had moved or were gone. Newer processors probably make that better.

I haven't tried any action shots as of yet, but I'll try it out with the dogs.

The pics look good. Most digital cameras suck at action photos since the lag time from pushing shutter button till when the pic is taken is usually too long.
