Will l be at AK-FEST or not? My fate is in the hands ( and feet etc.) of 11 young women.

Upon hearing of AK-FEST l immediately booked my room. It would be an understatement to say l'm looking forward to this event. Where does 11 young women come in read on.

My daughter is in college; hopes to be a teacher. This is her final year of volleyball. Now her college has not had a team make the playoffs in what 20 years. In Ontario all the colleges play in the same division which means Sault College - 2200 students play against the larger colleges therefore usually they don't have a chance.

Last year the team finished 9 wins- 7 loses a very good finish for a small college. This year the college lost two of their best players so logically not much is expected. Someone forgot to tell this years team they are not expected to win. This weekend they were on the road and smoked the colleges in Sarnia and Windsor. Present record 8 wins 3 loses.

Playoffs first round is the weekend of Feb 19-21 and quess who is going to make it. Now l will not know until the begining of the week when they play. The girls could be any where in Ontario. The wait is on.

I really what to make it to AK-Fest but god there is nothing like cheering your kids on.:) My daughter hears my every cheer and notices my every look approving or disapproving. The wait is on. GO COUGARS GO :D

Hmm that's a toughie watching college girls bouncing around on the volleyball court or hanging with a bunch of old, ugly audio geeks ;) :p:

Can't wait till my GF's daugter starts going to college and has slumber parties during school break!

What is wrong with my daughter all my life l've tried to instill in her the concepts of team play. Can you believe it she listened.

On Friday Sault College smoked Redeemer from Hamilton Ontario in three straight sets to improve to 9-3 and assure them selves of a playoff spot.

It looks like the first round will be in the Sault next Friday night February 20 thats right the night before Audio Fest. That means the game will end around 11p.m. To make it down l would have to drive all night. That is a possibility but also if the Sault wins be down in Toronto the next weekend, we'll will see.

Hate the ideal of misssing the first AK Fest- love the ideal of cheering on my daughter in her last volleyball season. Such is life.

Hey Mac,

I'd be there cheering if it were my kid. I actually made an 8 hour round trip drive this past weekend for my oldest daughters gymnastics competition. This is her 2nd year competing, all last year she never so much as won a ribbon. Well this time she not only picked up a 7th place ribbon on the floor, and and 8th place ribbon all round. She snagged a silver medal on the beam. Damn near brought a tear to my eye. times like that only come around once.
