Damn I hate reworking wall boxes in this kind of block. What a gawd damn mess, dust city. Oh well, that's the worst part anyway. This adobe style block is soft and my Bosh blows through it like butter.

WildWest 02-01-2004, 02:29 PM And now that it is all done I can plug in my new Final Labs cables from my mono blocks directly to the deticated circuit. Does this all sound better/different? Ummmm not that I can tell but its kewl none the less. Haoleb 02-01-2004, 02:33 PM you didnt even put in hospital grade plugs? bolly 02-01-2004, 02:34 PM Look like Hubbell to me. WildWest 02-01-2004, 02:40 PM No, my wholesaler didn't have the hospital grade in the decora style on the shelf. I'll get them ordered one of these days. opt80 02-01-2004, 02:46 PM Wild, Do hospital grade outlets really make a difference? And how do electricians know that there is wire behind a wall? Do you get shocked a lot? I got blasted by a dryer plug. The electricity went in my index finger and out my fore arm.I dried 4 loads of laundry that nite!! Alan Do hospital grade outlets really make a difference? Sonically? Of course not. But they are a heavy duty outlet able to stand up to heavier loads and abuse. Better grade device all the way around. How do we know the wire is in the wall? Well Alan ole buddy. Us electricians know many things about electricity, electrical theory and how it really works that might surprise you. ;) Other than that ummm well, there was already a single duplex box in this location. Shocked? No, I never get shocked as I am a professional. I even did this change out without cutting the power. Your damn lucky that 250 volt power from the dryer didn't kill you. Hurts like hell though as years ago when I was learning this trade I have been "lit up". 277 volt commercial lighting voltage is always fun too. WHEW! I fell through a ceiling in a commercial building once when I got hit by that. Wasn't fun at all. Dave918 02-01-2004, 03:25 PM Nice work there WW, clean and professional. You should see the mess some of the contractors around here make just installing new runs and boxes. Then they look at you like your crazy when you tell them to fix it. -Dave opt80 02-01-2004, 04:22 PM yep, felt like my finger was cut off and WW know how stupid I really was?I was standing in water. I went to the Doctor,he figured that I was o.k as I kept doing electrical jokes. Luckily it didn't cross my body and short circuit the old sump pump. I still have self-loathing for such a dumb-ass move It wasn't as bad as the one I got off of a stove,I was wiping it down with a wet cloth and the muscles in my arms started to quiver.Turned out the stove was not grounded. Even with world matters,I am easily shocked Alan Dave918 02-01-2004, 04:46 PM Dang, Alan - you've certainly had some shocking experiences :D All right! I know it was lame. Give a guy a break :grumpy: (Just thought I would get a head start :p: ) -Dave opt80 02-02-2004, 03:57 PM And you were always so grounded,Dave A. Reel 2 Reel 02-02-2004, 05:41 PM Oh boy!!!.....here we go again!!!!! opt80 02-02-2004, 07:39 PM I am sorry R2R,I don't have a lot of outlets in my life. Alan Reel 2 Reel 02-02-2004, 07:46 PM Maaaan..thats shocking to hear...I figured you to have one of those electrifing personalities!! opt80 02-02-2004, 08:33 PM Why thank-you Gary,I try to stay current in everything I do!For instance if I met you on the street I'd ask Watt's up?One of my downfalls is that I have a short fuse!! Alan Reel 2 Reel 02-02-2004, 08:56 PM So ...watts up with Dave...there must be some resistance to jolting into this thread... something must be en-lightning thats got him re-fuseing to respond.... Dave918 02-03-2004, 06:00 AM Nuthin' up with me, I just couldn't keep up with you guys :stupid: Low battery situation last night. Alan, your new avatar cracks me up everytime I see it :D -Dave opt80 02-03-2004, 06:11 AM Speaking of battery,I went to the grocery store last nite. The salt was next to the batteries.I thought, hmmm A salt and battery.I put both in my cart. The items are on my visa..now I have a salt and battery charge Alan Dave918 02-03-2004, 06:34 AM :lmao: Reel 2 Reel 11-27-2008, 02:32 PM This brings back some old memories... yup:sigh:....the good ole days here at AK... VinylHanger 11-27-2008, 02:41 PM Those were the days. Reel 2 Reel 11-27-2008, 03:33 PM I wonder what ever happened to ole Dave...(Wldwest)..he hasn't posted since 2007...kinda miss the old fart... Yea...who am I to talk...I been pretty absent on the board as of late myself...but I'm tryin to rectify that situation.. WildWest 11-27-2008, 05:29 PM "Old fart"? LOL I'm simply in the youth of my old age at 52 mind you! Haven't posted since '07? Really, wow... So how ya doing guy? It's been a while no doubt. I'm still alive, just had to put the audio hobby on the back burner while I build our business. For those that have a simple 40 hour week, or a wife that carries most the load it's hard to understand but... Building a ground up business (a real business with employees, facilities etc.) takes one hell of a lot of time and devotion. There is much to learning new systems and such. But it's really coming together and then I'll be playing audio with BIG audio bucks and kicking back while all my hired slaves do the work. I'm likin the sound of that story I tell ya. Gotta admit though...I miss the old days here no doubt. Reel 2 Reel 11-28-2008, 01:01 PM Well...som-bich!!! I was just thinkin bout you yesterday...we want to do some fancy lighting around the place I work...and thought of you...so I scoped out your website for some ideas...and checked out a bunch of your links ...(for some kickback for ya too)...:thmbsp: There now that the niceities are out of the way ...Git yer arse back in here more often...:D |
