View Full Version : Faith No More n8thesk8 12-28-2007, 11:10 PM The Real Thing. Does any one else like this CD? RSL'67 12-28-2007, 11:13 PM Love it!! Also dig Angel Dust. Some of the Mike Patton "Mr. Bungle" stuff is good as well. n8thesk8 12-28-2007, 11:21 PM Mr. Bungle. That is a CD I haven't heard in a long time. n8thesk8 12-29-2007, 12:13 AM Is there anybody out there....crap that's Floyd. Woodpecker from Mars. Good song. Zadok2112 12-29-2007, 12:37 AM I can't decide. I think both are brilliant. Have you heard the Bjork that hs Mike Patton on it? n8thesk8 12-29-2007, 12:42 AM No. I didn't know Mike Patton did anything with Bjork. Zadok2112 12-29-2007, 12:54 AM Apparently not. Sorry. I read an article awhile ago that said he was on Vespertine. I just went to check the artists on the CD and he's not listed. I guess the author of the article didn't do his homework. Might be an interesting duet though. n8thesk8 12-29-2007, 12:59 AM I think FNM needs to release a new CD in 2008! 240sx4u 12-29-2007, 09:53 AM I have been looking for "epic" on vinyl forever. I need to go find it on CD. Great album. I got "King for a Day" on vinyl from a buddy. Mike patton also does a song with someone (dont remember who) on the judgement night soundtrack. He is a very talented vocalist. Evan AndrewCttrll 12-29-2007, 10:27 AM I purchased The Real Thing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Real_Thing_%28Faith_No_More_album%29) and Angel Dust (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_Dust_%28album%29) on cassette when they were first released. I now find that The Real Thing is lacking in bass, although Angel Dust sounds better. I've heard both on CD and in my opinion they could both do with remastering (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_mastering). Anyway, I usually use my bass tone control to give The Real Thing +10dB and Angel Dust +4dB. Cpt.Beaky 12-30-2007, 12:40 AM Apparently not. Sorry. Might be an interesting duet though. I'm fairly certain that he appeared on Medulla. It's better for a good band to die than fade away. FNM was great right up until it ceased to exist. At least Mike Patton is still releasing about 10 albums a year, many of which are pretty interesting. Brent71 12-30-2007, 01:08 AM I've loved The Real Thing since it came out (1989?). I never thought it sounded very good but the music is great. Angel Dust and Album Of The Year are also favorites of mine. Parnelly 12-30-2007, 10:51 AM They covered War Pigs on the Nativity In Black A Tribute To Black Sabbath. He is an excellent singer. Brent71 12-30-2007, 11:30 AM They covered War Pigs on the Nativity In Black A Tribute To Black Sabbath. He is an excellent singer.War Pigs is on The Real Thing cd, track 10. Dale A B 12-30-2007, 01:34 PM I first heard of FNM when they played "Epic" on SNL - I told the wifey right then and there I will buy that cd. Enjoy all of the FNM, even "Introduce Yourself" with the previous vocalist. Rex Everything 12-31-2007, 05:35 PM Real Thing and Angel Dust are must have albums. I saw them on the Angel Dust tour and must say it was a stellar show. Helmet opened for any that care. Everyone go put Angel Dust on and crank it. Face 12-31-2007, 05:46 PM They covered War Pigs on the Nativity In Black A Tribute To Black Sabbath. He is an excellent singer. The best part of that song is when he forgot the lyrics, I laugh my ass off every time I hear that part. I listened to FNM when I was young and have since lost the cassettes. I need to pick up their CD's next time I order from Amazon. |
