Just curious, which of you have done the lingo upgrade? What were the before and after results?
Thanks :-)

More recently I heard side by side a more modern Lingo (full box LK size) against an old half box size. These are often refered to as Lingo 1 and Lingo 2, though Linn don't distinguish them this way as they have made lots of improvements to the Lingo over the years, the move to full box (surface mount PCB and other changes) is just one. Timing easier to follow, more flowing and engaging. More space between the instruments. Where the note started and stopped was much clearer, both in terms of stage (the edges of the instruments were obvious) and in terms of time (the note starting and stopping). zoeinterloper 03-04-2008, 01:49 PM For me the Lingo was done later. I first went to a Cirkus because I had an A/B/C comp with my deck/without, another customers deck (identical) with Cirkus, and a dealer deck (identical to mine) with Lingo. The Bearing was by far the biggest step forward and most cost effective to boot. IMHO the Cirkus cut the surface noise in half and then revealed, much more inner detail and sound staging cues than without. It added a background blackness that I wouldn't had thought I was missing. Conversely, the Lingo tightened up pace and timing, and added tonal accuracy or if you will, timber improvements. Happy Listening!:beatnik: |
