Although it would not surprise me if all or much of today's studio equipment was entirely digital what does surprise me is a 1984 recording of the Alan Parson's Project album titled "Stereoptomy" is "entirely" recorded in digital. This album is probably one of the best sounding LPs in my entire collection. I did not realize that they had an entirely digital studio that far back. Dig this LP out and take a listen. Rock solid. Is it the digital or a mix of great engineering and digital? I know the APP was concerned with quality recordings but this LP just sounds amazingly good. I will take a look at the rest of my APP LP's and see if this is unique to the studio or all of his work.
