I was auditioning some test pressings of these and they are very good. If intimate jazz combos are your thing these sound great. In original glorious Stereo too, 45 rpm, 180- gram, two disk sets!
Good re-mastering work by Steve and Kevin. We will be spinning these at the Venetian Music Matters, Warner Brothers, McIntosh room next week for all you CES show goers.

Thanks,
Ron-C

I have the first two of the series and they are pretty spectacular pressings. Part of Christmas was a subscription so I got the gift that keeps on giving and am looking forward to the rest of them. You'll certainly be showing off your equipment to its best with those pressings/tunes!

I love that record too. I wish that was on the list of records that they were issuing as 45 rpm but it's not.

I did recently pick up a good Kenny Burrell record though at Rasputin's - Blues the Common Ground - on the Verve Label. Excellent!

Yep $50 each, and supposed to be two/month. Says you can cancel at any time.

Oh yes it is!

Well, it's not music matters but it is on the acousticsounds list of 25 that they cherry picked and it is 45rpm:

Evidently the acousticsounds LPs are identical EXCEPT for the packaging.

Call it $3,650 after adding the Acoustic Sounds copy of Burrell.

I'm sitting here reading what I just wrote, and I'm having a hard time with it. First, I have a fairly extensive LP collection (~2,000 or so), and a nice 'table. So I love vinyl, and I love music, and lately I've been making a concerted effort to advance my jazz education and listening.

However, $150/month and (at 45 rpm) you have to turn it over every 10 minutes.

Has anybody listened to these yet? Please, somebody tell me it's worth it. I want to sign up for the subscription, I really do, but...

If they are anything like the last set they remastered they are worth every penny !

Alright, based on that and the fact Steve Hoffman's got his hand in it, I'll give it a try.

I heard the them. Yes...they are worth every penny and I seriously doubt if they will lose value ;).

Actually, they are incredible. And I need the exercise anyway. :) Also, the jackets are great - big clear pics inside from Mosaic Sounds of the performers. I don't have any recordings (music yes) that are better than these in my collection (thousands) and there isn't a lot that's better music.

...and yes the music matters releases are different than the acoustic sounds releases. I was just talking about music matters.

Joyce, the artwork was one of the reasons I decided to take the leap. I love to sit there and read the covers while I listen!

I sent them an email and asked them to send me all the current (Nov/Dec) releases so I could get "caught up" and get the January releases on time.

Can't wait!
