View Full Version : Just bragging on my wife again....
similost 01-18-2008, 12:11 PM I really am lucky...
Just got an e-mail from my wife... she just bought tickets to go see Robin Trower the first week of March in a real small little venue...
She said something a week ago about him being here, I said cool, and that was about it.. Today we've got tickets! I'm Stoked!!!! :banana:
We saw him a couple years ago, and the man still had it!
spartanmanor 01-18-2008, 12:12 PM You are living the good life.
similost 01-18-2008, 12:17 PM :yes: :D
kretinus 01-18-2008, 05:50 PM Robin Trower is good, and your wife is definitely the tops for getting you paper for it.
But just to put in a word for second place, my wife bought me an 08 Unlimited Wrangler Rubicon, that's gotta be worth a few brownie points.
But back to Trower in a small venue, they make these little DAR that will fit in your pocket ....
bowtie427ss 01-18-2008, 06:03 PM Most of us have to buy tickets to hit the lottery, i think you won it with a marriage proposal James!
Davey Pattison's voice has only gotten better with age, and Robin doesn't miss a lick. Don't expect a lotta showboating, just excellent rock n roll RT style.
Enjoy!
modge 01-18-2008, 06:03 PM similost good for you, I hope its a great night out for the both of you :thmbsp:
centralflori 01-18-2008, 06:05 PM Saw Robin Trower in the last few months and he absolutely blisters the guitar, still.:jawdrop::guitar::ntwrthy: He is simply amazing to watch him play! Took my 17yr old son and he couldn't believe how the "old guy" could play the guitar.
cubdog 01-18-2008, 06:11 PM That's great! I'd love to see him. Enjoy the show. BTW is FT. Hunt HS still around? I went there for about 1/2 year in the 60's.

I live real close to Hunt.. I believe the school is there. No kids, so don't really pay attention. We actually live almost across from Mt. Vernon HS..

Victims of the Fury....
........ .. ... ....
jjohnson 01-19-2008, 04:54 PM That is fantastic.:thmbsp: Some of us have found ourselves very fortunate on the home front. My wife has always been very supportive of this crazy hobby and when the decisions are big she really helps because her ears are better than mine. What kind of lady gets teary eyed when you sell your Magnepans? :music:
thedelihaus 01-19-2008, 05:50 PM James,
You can brag about that good lookin' and charismatic woman as much as you want- after personally meeting her, you've earned it, and she's earned it too. A very cool, smart and hip woman indeedy.
Now, forgive me, but I just can't help but brag here myself- that I've had her sleep over my house, and no less, she's been in my bed!!!
:banana::banana::banana:
Unfortunately, I was in another room...
:tears::tears::tears:
And even more unfortunate, you were in my bed too...
:yikes::puke::cry:
At any rate, I do hope to see you two again, and soon. If you and Marsha lived closer, I'm sure indeed we'd all be out truly ripping it up in the city.
You two deserve each other. It's rare I meet such a smart, fun, exciting couple. Guess it kinda goes hand in hand with a fella who has massive Altecs parked in his living room, and has a partner that finds it a-okay.

Believe it or not, I got to see him here of all places about 10 years ago. The memory is good and that was a good show.
And I used to live in that area too, right near the old Groveton HS and Stephen F. Foster Intermediate. Many moon ago, grasshopper ....

HAhahaha.. too funny Paul! I'm sure we'll be back up that way again. We really liked Boston and would love to spend a weekend up there. We had a blast hanging out with you, and want to do it again.
We'll have to get a room in the heart of the city so we can stumble from place to place checking out some bands with no worry about getting home afterwards...
As far as finding the speakers A-ok.. well.. she tolerates me and them, but does love the sound.. just wished they weren't so massive..
