Just wondering how far a part those of you using a single pair or stacked speakers have them.

Mine are if measured from the center of the grills are approx 9.5 feet and 17 feet from the sweet spot.

Mine are only about 7 feet apart right now, but not by choice (small room). :thumbsdn:

About 5 feet due to WAF issues... <sigh>

Just four feet apart. What a PITA. Seems like headphones give me better separation.

I wish I had a bigger listing room but for now they are about 6 feet apart.

In my living room, my Polk SDA SRS II's are 6 feet apart (inner edge to inner edge) which is about 7.5 feet on center. My living room is 24 X 20 but is not completely "square" but it works great. I sit about 12 feet back from them or so which the manual says is pretty much the best way. Man, they have a great staging.

In my office, my Heresy's are 6 feet apart, too, which is about the width of my desk (5.5 ft) so when I'm sitting between them as I am now, they are a few feet from each ear. If I sit on the couch to listen to them, I am about 6 feet from them so pretty much in the center.

No answer in the poll that fits me, but mine are about 6.5 ft. apart.

The spacing is optimal for my room width considering adequate distance from the side walls, etc.

For critical listening, I position my chair to roughly form an equilateral triangle with the speakers.

Mine are about 8.4 feet apart to the inner edge, and angled 29.5/31.5 from the rear wall. They sound great set that way!

A little less than 6 feet, not by choice, but due to room configuration.

Discussions on sound stage and such got me thinking about this. Someone had commented that the speakers I use in there experiance did not have good sound staging.. Yet I think they do very well.

Since setup is critical to any speaker sounding it's best I was wondering what other guys have. Not in an attempt to make any changes in my setup that is not possible in that my speakers are in the only place in the room possible and Wife approved.

One of the speakers is sitting on a platform that is built over top of the fare left side of the bottom step leading up stairs.

The other is positioned in the opening of the alcove under the stairs my system is located in.

Both in the way and if anywhere else would literally be blocking a traffic line or the TV so here they sit 9.5' a part angled towards a point 17 feet away on the end of the couch.

Mine are about 10 feet apart slightly angled to my listening are about 10 feet away. A wierd combo that really works for me, DSS-7's on bottom and Large Advents on top. Seems like a great compliment to each other. Great highs and midbass from the Advents and great deep bass from the DVC 12" woffers in the DSS-7's. About 2 feet from the back wall also.:thmbsp:

I am into quad so the 16X20 family room works well for me.Speakers are about 14 feet apart angled into the sweet spot 8 feet in front of the lazyboy. The rears slightly closer at 6 feet behind with the same distance apart, really fills the room.

Ijust read the part about measured from the center of the speakers. That would put mine over 12 feet apart.. not 10-12 like I voted...

For my HT set-ups I tried to follow the triangle model of the distance between your speakers should equal the distance from the listening area.

For my 2-channel listening area I actually sit in the middle between the speakers because of the room configuration. It actually works pretty well because of the quality of the speakers and the room accoustics but in general it is not the road most can/should take.
