I got my 5000X up and running, set current and sounds great. All except the tuner. It is fine up to about 103. Past that the stations start spacing out. (103.5 comes in at about 103.8, 105.5 comes in at 106 ect.) Not really a problem except the end of the scale is about 107.1 and the local station at 107.3 wont quite come in. All I can find in the SM is full alignment specs and I dont have all the stuff for that. Anyone have any ideas how to adjust a bit on this. I dont need alot more to get that one station. Any help would be appreciated...

On the 5000x your FM tuner board should be F-1085B. If not, numbers may be different. On top of the variable tuning capacitor, you will find a small trimmer cap, TC 104, and look for coil L104. These control the frequency of your oscillator. The basic quick adjust here is to adjust TC104 to bring the upper frequency down, then tune to the low end of the dial and use coil L104 to raise the floor. Repeat 2 or 3 times. If no serious problems with other components, this should bring you pretty close. Then adjust the RE amps the same way to balance rf gain across the the band.

Thanks again Geotex. I adjusted (ie: played with) tc104 and l104 and while probably not perfect, it works great now. Really a sensitive tuner...
