A fellow near Vancouver is advertising some Jensen Model 15 4-ways for $200. They are huge speakers with 5 drivers, and look very well-made.
Is that a reasonable price?

Not sure... I thought they were pretty well regarded, but that was memory of many years ago. I don't think I'd go $200 on them.. I sure would need to do a little research and some listening. Further, they better be in very nice shape.

Someone finally is able to buy a pair, well I'll be. Those things cost a bunch back in the day, retailing around $1100 in '77. They cost more than HPM-200s, JBL Jubals, DQ-10's, ESS AMT1's etc so there has to be something substantive there, if anything just materials. The book also states weight at 100lbs per. If any of those drivers need new suspensions then make the owner aware of it before your offer.

The ad states that the drivers were refoamed about 5 years ago. They've been advertised for awhile, so I might be able to get them for less than the asking price. If so, it's going to be difficult hiding them from the wife. I'm going to have to put a lock on my study, where my vintage stuff is residing.

He's asking $50, but I'm going to "work" on him a bit. Anyone ever heard these before? Any general opinions????
Thanks....:thmbsp:
