Hi all!
I didn't notice there was a newbie forum.

I have wanted to be into vintage audio gear for a while. Im only 21, so the problem was funds.... I finally got some, and some gear to go with it!

I really do feel welcome in this place, and am so glad to be surrounded by people this knowledgeable about vintage audio. Im a graduating electrical engineer, so playing with this stuff makes me all giddy inside. While I do believe experience FAR outweighs education, I hope to fill in that experience part with all you!!

What I have so far...

-JBL S2/S1 Aquarius speakers.
-Marantz 4400
-Marantz 2270
-Marantz 5020
-Two Marantz 6300 tables
-Dual 1228
-Project/One DR-880

The turntables were all restored, the Dual by a pro, the rest by me. I am in the process of sorting out the 2270 before I tackle the 4400.

Thanks for listening!!

Welcome to AK, some nice equipment you got there. I'm a devoted Thorens fan, but I have to admit I like the looks of the Marantz 6?00 series of tables.

I wanted a thorens for my mother, but it had to be auto return, and the td-145 offered that. Unfortunately, the only one on ebay was WAY out of reach as it was New In Box.

The Dual 1228 offered fully automatic auto-play, was fully restored and in my price range. I couldnt me more happy with it, as it runs silent, looks, and acts like new.

The 6300s were an ebay find and sold as is not working. I cleaned up the pitch pots and they both track perfectly.

The project/one is my only "modern" table with a quartz lock. They all have lids that I polished clean.
