A friend of mine, who I met at a Commander Cody show, real cool dude, he's 52 years old...works out of his home, self employed...this guy has over 10,000 CDs, about 8,000 LPs a huge collection of rock posters, mostly rolling stones stuff, a room full of guitars signed by different bands...he told me he sold his CDs for 30 grand...which really only works out to about 3 bucks a disc...he's selling all the LPs (maybe theyre going with the CDs I don't know) selling all the guitars, has lots of nice audio gear, probably selling most of that...I guess what he wants to do is unload a bunch of stuff and take a long road trip, go see stuff he has never seen before...he's starting a website and is going to try to get A&E or somebody to videotape his journey...he's starting a website about it as well...I asked what bought this on, he said it's sort of a midlife crisis...he doesn't know how long he'll live, might have 30 years left, might have 2, who knows, and figures, can't take it with him, so why not just unload and follow some dreams...interesting to say the least! Just got me thinking, that's all...

Being single and in my mid-50s at this juncture in life, I can certainly empathize with him. Bottom line is that you really can't take it with you, so go do it now before war, the economy, or your health prevents you from seeing the world and enjoying things. Considering we only get X amount of days before the final bucket kicking, I'm beginning to wonder if what I've been through has really been worth it all in light of the bigger picture.

With the current the average life expectancy for males at 75.7 years, the more I think about it, the more I envy your friend...
