Congratulations David, I think that is one of the best Beatles titles ...quite the score to great any Beatles pre-recorded. I have a German Odeon vinyl release of Help, love that album. :music:

Frankie Lane should be interesting as he existed the space/time between Big Band - Swing & Rock. Has a good voice and maybe some good arrangements :)

anyone know how rare those Shakespeare reels are? Should I unseal the sealed ones?

I can't answer your question about the sealed pre-recorded R2R tapes and their possible worth or lack thereof. But ask yourself this. Do you plan (or hope) to at some point re-sell them? If so, then regardless of current worth, it's best to keep them sealed. On the other hand, if you are curious as to the content, then why not open them? If you don't like them, then you can still try and sell them as "near mint". And that's only assuming that they are playable in the first place.

And so how's the new deck coming along?

Well, I am about to clear out a space of floor in my room, and have a go at it. I think that there is something wrong in the way that I mounted the table onto the motor, so I will look at that yet again and see if I can get the transport out for testing and a good look-through. Now I need to find the space for all of the reels and 8tracks that I got....where to out them :scratch2:.

Also, I got some logging tape with the deck, so Now I will have to try to get another empty 10.5" reel, if I cannot get all of the functions to work on this deck.
